Undoubtably the jewel in the crown of Murray Bridge, Sturt Reserve is a mecca for outdoor pleasure and fun for local and international visitors alike.

This breathtaking reserve is located on the banks of the mighty Murray River, and is perfect for relaxing with a picnic, strolling along the foreshore and making the most of majestic river views and local birdlife. Barbecues and shelters are available and several commercial restaurant facilities also feature for those who enjoy more traditional dining.

For people with a bit more energy to burn there are plenty of great quality outdoor facilities to keep you entertained. A large safely fenced and sheltered playground with a great big pirate ship will keep young ones entertained for hours. Swings rockers, a spinning drum, seesaw and flying fox ensure there is plenty of activities to choose from.

For teenagers there is a Skate Park and what is affectionately known as the "Rage Cage". The skate park features a concrete structure for skateboarding and bicycles and the skate ramp is a steel constructed half pipe. The Rage Cage is a structure suitable for basketball, netball, hockey, soccer and other sports.

One of the most recent and popular additions to the park is an outdoor gym which includes a butterfly press, easy rider, stepper, rowing machine, shoulder press and lat pull down, calf trainer, ad hip swinger and cycle seat.

The Rural City of Murray Bridge encourages a healthy lifestyle and these facilities are available to all members of the public.

Sturt Reserve is also home to the only swing specially design for people with a disability in the district. The key for this swing is available from the Visitors Information Centre and Riverscape Cafe.

No one should visit Sturt Reserve without a visit to our very own local Bunyip! Housed on the foreshore of Sturt Reserve, the Murray Bridge Bunyip has been entertaining visitors for generations and is well worth a visit. Information panels explain the historical significance of the bunyip in Murray Bridge and connection to the river.

Sturt Reserve also plays host to a range of water sports and activities including swimming, rowing, boating and fishing.

This reserve is also houseboat friendly and mooring sites are available.

Regular annual events at Sturt Reserve include the Murray Bridge Christmas Pageant & Fireworks Spectacular and the International Pedal Prix.
